Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and while some breakfast food combos go together like, well, eggs and bacon, there are others out there that are equally as delicious but have yet to be discovered. We’re not quite sure where some of the breakfast combos we’re about to list originated from, all we know is that if you can get over their weird-ness, they taste absolutely amazing and you should seriously think about trying them ASAP.

Froot Loop Pancakes

Love Froot Loops in a morning, or are you more of a pancake person? Not quite sure which of the two choices you’d prefer to start your day off with? In that case, why not combine the two together and opt for a delightful serving of Froot Loop Pancakes? Simply go ahead and whip up a batch of your favourite pancakes, stack them up, but between each layer give them a generous sprinkling of Froot Loops and your favourite frosting. Layer them up until you have an impressive-looking stack, sprinkle with a final flourish of Fruit Loops a-la Salt Bae style (remember him?) and drizzle with a little more frosting.

Ice Cubes with Cereal

Before we go any further, we need to clear something up because the title is a little mis-leading. From the sounds of it, you’re may be thinking that we’re talking about ditching the milk in favour for ice cubes? We’re not. We’re simply talking about adding a few ice cubes to your bowl of milk and cereal. Why? Because there’s nothing finer than a bowl of crunchy cereal served with ice-cold milk. The problem is that the milk doesn’t stay ice cold for very often. The fix? Easy, throw in some ice cubes. Just don’t use too many or else it will become too watery.

Coffee and Salt

We’ve all heard of bulletproof Coffee, right? If not, it’s basically coffee, free from milk or sugar, which is instead enriched with grass-fed butter. Well, butter with your coffee is so 2017! 2018 is all about salt. Coffee and salt may sound odd to some, but remember that once upon a time, people thought the same about salt with caramel, or salt with chocolate. A sprinkling of fine sea salt is said to reduce the bitterness of the coffee while enhancing the flavour. It’s best to add the salt to the coffee grounds before the brewing, to ensure that everything is evenly dissolved.

Bacon and Peanut Butter

Come on, you didn’t expect us to talk about breakfast foods and to not include bacon on our list did you? Bacon is seen by many as the ultimate breakfast food, or indeed the ultimate food in general for that matter. Bacon is now worshipped like some divine entity in the food-blogging community and we can see why. Want to know another delicious breakfast food? Peanut butter. Want to create the ultimate treat to start your day off right? If so, simply take some rich and creamy peanut butter, spread it on toasted bread, and crumble plenty of crispy bacon on top. Some even take this a step further and add a layer of jam as well. This food combo is known as the ‘Elvis’ not because it was a favourite of his, but because if you consume it too often, you’ll end up like him, fat and bloated and slumped over lifeless on the toilet.
