Spacious. Quaint. Dare I say, cute? Parking situation can be a bit tricky, but if you park in the Avalon parking structure, you should find some spaces for Claudine you can snag without validation. They stop serving breakfast at noon, so keep that in mind if you're hankering for some of their famous Malted Milk Pancakes pancakes with salted butter.

The menu changes depending on whether it's breakfast or lunch time, with a nice emphasis on indulgent, yet healthy options like quiche, avocado IMPOSSIBLE burgers, loaded salads, and even baked donuts. You know, in case your health-centered sweet tooth is particularly loud today. This place is also home to Z's Fried Chicken sandwich, an award-winning concoction you won't want to miss.

They also have an impressive drinks menu with a little bit for everyone, including a hefty coffee selection like the Iced Coco Cubano, healthier drinks like tea and turmeric lattes, and even a few boozy options like wine and mimosas.

Feeling on the more acidic side, I opted for a turmeric latte instead of coffee today, and for once, I'm actually glad I did. Usually, turmeric lattes come out tasting on the harsh and spicy side; not this warming beauty. It was perfectly-sweet and soothing, with just a hint of spice. Best one I've had yet.

For food, I went with something hearty, and something even heartier… Because I don't do salads. First off, that Chicken Caprese Sandwich with pesto is one RIDICULOUSLY delicious sandwich. The sourdough is just crackly enough without being being so hard it cuts up your gums, the chicken is thinly-sliced, and that pesto spread is THE BEST I've ever had. Can you tell how amazing it is by all the caps I'm using? I ended up buying two.

The Organic Brown Rice bowl with hearth-roasted vegetables, a huge slice of avocado, cotija cheese, and salsa verde is one hot mess of a rice bowl. Since it is Mexican-inspired, it can be on the slightly-spicier side, what with all those onions and salsa verde in there. Nothing you can't handle, though. Unless you have gastritis.

The desserts range from Pot de Crème and brownies, to cookies, and even cake. So, go crazy! Take-away boxes are also plentiful, so don't be shy about ordering to your heart's content and taking the rest on the road. It's all worth it, trust me.
