Super-chill spot in the heart of Downtown LA with a unique twist to the brunch scene, from actually healthy cocktails made with fresh ingredients like Kombucha, ginger, & kumquat, mixed with fancy libations like Lilet Rosé, gin, & pricey vodka. Everything is made in-house with care & precision. Even their draft beers offer something more than your typical craft brews with exotic ingredients & indulgent flavors. Yes, they have mimosas, too, you brunch fanatics! The cocktails are a bit more on the adventurous side, so don't expect too much sweetness or indulgence so much as spiciness & kick.

If I had to describe the overall flavor of their food, I would have to say: Charred. From the free broccolini with oil/ vinegar & pistachios to the enormous Chef's salad with fresh greens, slivered veggies, & a healthy serving of hummus & walnuts, everything has a rather char-broiled tinge to it. Which isn't to say it isn't good. It's all very savory.

The sweeter side of the menu grants you a pick of pancakes, Brioche French Toast, or oatmeal. Do me a favor & go for the French Toast so I can live vicariously through you. It is one of the best I've had in a while; cooked to fluffy, decadent perfection with a healthy dollop of creamy mascarpone, a drizzle of syrup, a sprinkling of berries, & a few sprigs of mint, (don't ask me why that's in there). Their Green Piri-Piri Rice is one of their signature dishes & comes with an egg, seasonal veggies, & Maitake mushrooms. It's filling, savory, & satisfying; great if you're looking for something new. The rest of their menu has quite a few egg dishes with an equal amount of savoriness & richness of flavor, with a few sandwiches & burgers in-between for good measure.

If you don't like oily food, this place may not be for you; but if you're looking to get away from the norm, find a chill spot to dine in, in the center of the city, & satisfy the umami craving of your palate, take a swing at this place. It's not to be missed.
