Tried-And-True Cuisine At Creamy Spoon French Bistro

Part bistro, part classy restaurant, all French. The space isn't very big, and you'll probably have to wait a while to grab a seat on any given day, but the food and pastries are worth the wait. And the service is nothing to turn your nose up at, either.

The menu offers a modest variety of popular French cuisine that ranges from breakfast foods like the Croque Madame and crepes to lasagna dishes, sandwiches, & desserts with some impressive European flair.

They also specialize in wine here, (because French), and they have a helpful page on their menu dedicated to wine pairings with an appropriate food.

My tiny brunch included a La Vie en Rose latte with just a hint of rose flavor and strong coffee notes you know come from French beans. For food, I ordered the Créme Brûleé French Toast, (because who ever heard of eating at a French restaurant without French Toast?), their popular Moroccan Omelette, and one of my favorite French dishes, a Croque Madame minus the egg, which made it a Croque-Monsieur.

The Créme Brûleé French Toast was as authentic as it gets, with a super-sweet crackly top, and soft toast with a sprinkling of fresh berries around it. It was the perfect pairing with their coffee.

The Moroccan omelette was on the other end of the spectrum, with a super-savory flavor and a prevalence on tomatoes and merguez sausage. It comes served with a side of roasted potatoes and a side salad. Trust me, you won't go hungry with this one; though, you may get a dose of acid reflux due to all the tomatoes used in this dish.

The Croque-Monsieur is a creamy, cheesy, fluffy concoction of pure French genius with a potent protein kick from that ham wedged in-between. I usually prefer the Croque Madame as the lack of egg can make the Croque-Monsieur kind of 'meh;' however this one lacked absolutely nothing. The flavor was all there and the healthy salad served on the side rounded it out nicely.

Overall, the food is great, the ambiance is pleasant, but what I think adds that extra star for excellence is the service. Unlike most “traditional” French restaurants, the people here are very sweet and attentive. Especially Vladimir, one of the managers here, who made sure everyone was really taken care of, including myself, with a lot of history into the making of this lovely restaurant and a complimentary pastry, to boot.
